Measure the voltage of the HDD supply. If it measures 12 volts DC exactly, it won't work. It would charge your battery only to 12 volts which would not be fully charged. You need something in the neighborhood of 15 volts to get a full charge.

Measure the voltage of the HDD supply. If it measures 12 volts DC exactly, it won't work. It would charge your battery only to 12 volts which would not be fully charged. You need something in the neighborhood of 15 volts to get a full charge.
