Even worse. The problem appears to be with the camera operator's headphones for monitoring the feed, as the digital recorder appeared to be getting the mixed audio. Somewhat of a non-issue, as the theater digitally records audio anyway. One directly from the Yamaha digital mix board, and a separate multi-track recording using Audacity on a MAC workstation. Either of which can easily be edited to replace any lost audio. As I had to do a week earlier for another program.

The webcast stream link ran fine on both my office WIN 7 PC and iMAC Pro desktop running Firefox, but wouldn't run on Safari on my MacBook Pro under Mavericks - the latest version approved for our Enterprise network. It was a UStream public webcast, so likely using a Flash stream for desktops/notebooks.

I had actually walked over to see the event live in the Warner Bros Theater, but was immediately sidetracked to help out a News crew who was having difficulty receiving the audio feed from a Mult box(press feed). I sometimes do technical work for the theater, so the staff assumed that I was working when I arrived, which I was not. The theater's tech director and separate av crew doing the webcast streaming had their hands full, and couldn't assist the News crew so helped out. My good deed of the day, but ended up missing the first 30 minutes of the discussion. In fact, left the theater and watched the rest of the live webcast stream back in my office.

I'll have to locate the link to watch the recorded UStream Webcast over again, but do believe that Vint did discuss the origins on how the Internet was eventually opened for public use.

I wonder how many folks remember that the internet started as ARPA net (Advance Research Projects Administration) a MILITARY network.

once hacked into by a bunch of kids from Chicago they de-classified it and the internet was born.

I really miss FIDO. Internet killed the good ol hobbiest, enthusiast computing that was devoid of forum fights, spam, trolls etc.

It was pretty interesting, having lived through most of that innovation.

I worked at an internet security company with a lot of the BB&N engineers. Their stories were a hoot.
