Garmin RV 760LMT any Usage Findings

Shoreco - I am also on LI. Will it route you on the Southern State or the Northern State or any of the parkways? I tried the Rand McNally and it routed me on those roads with a 10' height clearance put into the settings. The Rand went back and now I am waiting on hearing what the Garmin RV will do. Thanks!

Woodglue, did the unit freeze up before you did all the updates?

Question for those of you who have the 760LTM - when following a route, how many "programable windows" that is the ones that show time to destination, miles to destination, altitude, etc are available? I miss my old Garmin that had 4 of them - most of the new versions only have one.

It only has one. So frustrating, a bigger screen and less information :(

They do have a new feature called Trip Data that you can display in addition to the programmable window. It is something of a replacement, you can display things like Elevation, Total Time, Max Speed but for the most part not data I am interested in.

My old Garmin had 3 programmable windows, I had them set to Arrival Time, Miles to go and Elevation. It is not possible to get those three values displayed on the screen together with the RV 760 LMT.

Overall I am happy with this unit but am very disappointed in the loss of this feature.

And I miss Jill too :)

I do the same thing and have my home location at the nearest cross street ... if I can't get home from there I shouldn't have a GPS to start with so the lock out feature while nice is not really needed for any type of security.

Is having home programmed into your GPS really an issue?! Most people have there registration in the glove box anyway or is that a security issue as well?

I think the concern is that someone could steal just the GPS and be less likely to be caught than if they steal a car or just the registration, but you make a good point. Plus they can sell the GPS and get your address and directions all in one ... the GPS is a lot less traceable than getting caught with someones car registration that isn't yours.

I suspect that a person stealing a GPS unit isn't going to break into you home any more than a random burglar.

What? You think because he has your address that he's automatically going to break into your home?

OH LORDY!

I only fear valet parking, so I never valet. That's it and that is well documented at least!

I am 12'6" and even though I live 1/4 mile off Southern State,it routes me to Sunrise or LIE...
