Garmin RV 760LMT any Usage Findings

Question for those of you who have the 760LTM - when following a route, how many "programable windows" that is the ones that show time to destination, miles to destination, altitude, etc are available? I miss my old Garmin that had 4 of them - most of the new versions only have one.

for me I have my home location one block away..I know where my friends and family live so I don't need that;)

Shoreco - I am also on LI. Will it route you on the Southern State or the Northern State or any of the parkways? I tried the Rand McNally and it routed me on those roads with a 10' height clearance put into the settings. The Rand went back and now I am waiting on hearing what the Garmin RV will do. Thanks!

I'm going to give it a second try, because the first one was screen freezing.

Interesting comments so far mine has been great I have used it for 2 weeks. Went from MD to Canada and the Garmin did not miss a beat. I was a former Tom Tom user and the Garmin input is different however I had no problem using it and the Garmin had no problems finding my destination. Every CG I stayed at was in the Garmin data base.
The Garmin is not perfect but I give it a 9 out of 10 so far.

The unit I got froze every other screen push. I don't know if it was defective or what but it's going back, never to return. Why?

It's not a very good GPS imo. I'm so used to using TomTom's sleek interface where you can update your maps, the GPS Fix, get new POI's and install them, look for and install new voices - all in one spot.

Garmin makes you download BaseCamp and POIUploader in addition to the Express software. Ummm, no thanks.

The interface and Mapview leave a lot to be desired imo.

I went ahead and ordered the TomTom RV GPS and I should have that one by Friday. I'll report back to this thread or start a new one specific for that Model.

What I would prefer is an option to maximize interstate use under the quickest route option. I would actually prefer to travel longer and out of my way on the interstate and 4 lanes highways in many cases. Quickest and shortest still don't work for me so I usually examine maps before trips to figure out which is the best route for me and then use gps to track arrival data and such.

Tell me about it !! I messed with mine for 2 days,finaly got it all updated.The online instructions say to just go on using your computer
and they will tell you when they are done with the update.I found that I had to let Garmin have my entire computer for the update.
I was using my Mi-Fi which may have had something to do with it.
It ended up taking at least 8 hours.
I do think that I will be happy with it when we get back on the road,
a big improvement over my Nuvi 350,which seemed to be getting senile.
I ordered the friction mount to go with it,that will take a bit of time to get used to.
I had a hard time convincing myself to spend the $$ but I'm happy that I did.

Hahaha! Senility in GPS units can be dangerous!

I think I have it updated now. I'll take it out tomorrow and put it through it's paces!
