- CallThisCampingExplorerI received mine last Friday and we're not scheduled to leave until the 29th to give the routing a try.
My question is about the extra subscriptions. Are they permanent apps that you buy once or is it an annual subscription? Seems expensive if you have to renew them every year. Especially since you're just paying for the convenience of not looking at a second screen (phone) where all this information is available for free. If not, they should call it an app purchase instead of a subscription.
Also, I wonder if the purchase is linked to the phone, gps, or account. How many times do I have to buy this subscription? Every time I buy a new gps? Phone? - johnvbExplorer

I'm considering getting one of these to upgrade the current 1490 and the current document downloads on the Garmin site don't show what I'm looking for so I have for anyone that has gotten one a couple of questions if you could answer. Specifically:
1. Does it accept an micro SD card like previous units and is there a size limit on the card.
2. How large is the internal memory in the unit itself
3. I assume it takes a simple RCA plug type input for an aux backup camera and can you take a picture of where and what the various inputs look like and where they are located on the unit.
Thanks
Larry
#1...Yes, but the manual doesn't say anything about a size limit.
#2...7 GB
#3...Looks like the same connection as the dezl 760lmt
They do have the manual up on the Garmin site:

Had a few close calls with people to busy talking and not driving. - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIWhile the Rand unit it not getting a lot of love, I don't expect you to get a lot of love from the Garmin RV760 either as expectations are simply too high for these units. I like Garmin and I like a variety of Garmins including the new 2797 with lifetime maps and traffic. Someone is going to have to compare these units but it's unlikely anyone will have a variety of Garmins to be able to accomplish this task. The thing is this.....I KNOW where I am going before I ever turn on my GPS when traveling in my RV and I really don't care where it takes me when I am in my toad. So, what's really important to you? Is it your plan to completely turn yourself over to the GPS you purchase and follow that course without any other consideration? Propane is missing? Propane what? Many routes that restrict propane allow propane as long as you have it turned off at the bottle and stop to have it checked. Arbitrary restrictions will never meet an RVers needs and it's up to you to plan the course before you leave and use the GPS as a tool and not a crutch.

I was hoping to purchase a GPS for our RV this year. Research indicated that the Rand McNalley was the best one out. They have one for the RV. Garmin did not. I have an older Grarmin and love it and am very excited that Garmin FINALLY has one dedicated for the RV. I did not want one for trucks. I did look at the Garmin site noted above and was disappointed of the lack of information they had on the unit. I was not interested in a story. Please let us know how you like it and if it does what it is designed to do. My biggest concern is that it takes me places with out ripping my roof off as I go under an overpass and does not take me down roads meant for a horse. The additional features of campgrounds and diesel stops would also be very helpful.
Keep us posted.
The Rand McNally was the biggest POS I have ever owned.....I was so glad to get rid of it....
They should stick to printing maps and atlases....
