Big black boxes in homes and business are quickly changing over to smaller form factors, but to say PC's in general are a dying breed is a misunderstanding of computing. PC's are evolving, as they always have.
Why would you not consider a tablet a PC?
When I add a Bluetooth key board to a tablet, now is it a PC?
What about units with more power and detachable keyboard. Are those not PC's?
And the units with fixed/folding keyboard, what are those?
Is there a screen size that one person determines a PC laptop vs tablet? Such as anything over 14" is a PC laptop...and not a tablet? Why?
Or is it the lack of a spinning hard drive that defines it? (definitely not)
IMO - They are all PC's, right down to our smart phones, any way you look at it. There are simply new terms to help define and split up their form factors and intended use as they all continue to evolve.

Geeze Louise!
It's tongue in cheek. And no I don't have a misunderstanding of computers.
Of course they are not LITERALLY dieing.:R
More and more people ARE though going to tablets and laptops then ever before henceforth the mass donations of PC screens, towers, and keyboards to church thrift stores. Donations almost tripled at my church over the past couple of years.
LIGHTEN up! :B
