Glad PC's are a dieing breed

Gotta love the popularity of cell phones and laptops!

My laptop screen died. So I stopped at a thrift store and low and behold I found a real nice monitor for 5 bucks!

Today I went to a moving sale and scored a 'brand new' keyboard and mouse for a whole 2 bucks!

New laptop for $400 or $7 bucks to make my dead laptop screen into a pc? It was an easy choice! :B

  • Lenovo used to me my first pick
    but one overheated processor
and the next one lasted two years until the hinges broke, NOT a mark on the laptop it had never left my desk top
this contract replacement is an HP, almost 6mo old, we will see how it holds up
  • Boy do I know about that. Luckily this is a Toshiba and other than the screen dieing it's been good to me.

Back When I hit the road full time I treated myself to the most expensive top of the line HP big screen laptop. While on the road it locked up. Spent $300 at a local computer shop where I was at to fix it only to have it happen again........

THEN only to find out that was when all the HP's where burning processors up and unknown to me there was a recall. When I found out it was too late, that and the fact I was on the road and no where to ship and receive it back.

All those $$$$ spent on it and got to use it for 6 whole days.:( HP used to be my first pick but not anymore.
  • FYI, some older Lenovo and HP laptops had a tendency yo overheat if operated a long time with the display closed. Keep an eye on yours until you are certain it won't overheat.
