Well UPS did this to save time and fuel, they figured less time waiting to turn saved fuel. They also were able to route so they were still picking up pickups and delivery's into the route.
In an RV making a left turn is easier than a right as you have more swing room. More than one semi has run over the front of the idiot driver that tried to cut inside of them when needing to pull to the left to make a right turn. Doesn't matter that they have their right turn signal on and a big message on the right mud flap stating makes wide right turns.
I have a right turn in a small town that I need to make on the way to the coast, because I am turning onto a one-way street I turn into the far lane.
