GPS route using "No Left Turn" algorithm?

I wonder how much fuel is burned waiting for the left turn vs. driving 4 extra blocks, stopping at each corner and if red, waiting to turn when it gets clear enough, etc.?
I suppose the bean counters had this all figured out, sort of like my BIL told me when he flew for Northwest. they had a route, Fargo to billings or something like that that the bean counters wanted to drop because the traffic never increased. it never increased because the planes were filled to capacity and couldn't. :)
