Thanks all!
Looks like my Coach has everything I need as far as antennia for local programming.
Normally, we don't get a lot of channels, regardless of our location. Is the a special set top box or receiver I need to help pick up more channels, or HD channels?
The standard TV antenna they have put on Coaches for many years is a decent (not great) antenna today just like it has been for years, A couple of upgrades and it becmoes just about the best on the market for mobile use (Better ones are a real pain) The mods are a Wingman (UHF Director array) Which increasses the range on UHF and the Sensar Pro which is a 2nd amplifier with some nice features for aiming the beast.
Now.. Televisions come in several flavors.. The older CRT units are, far as I know, all NTSC compatable, they may or may not be able to receive DIGITAL CABLE (many, mine included, could and still can) but they do not care for ATSC which is the over the air broadcASTSTUFF.
Thankfully you can still get digital converters.. I have two here. One is a DTV-Pal from Echostar, I do not think they make 'em any more and the other is a Insignia by LG (Lousy Goods) from Best Buy.. as my translation of LG suggests, it has a flaw,, but the work around is easy to do so it too works well.
Several other companies make them, so long as you do not leave it on powered up on one channel for a week at a time they are mostly all good.
SOME have what looks like a telephone or lan fitting on the back.. This is usually a com-port that can "Talk" to some special antennas .. If someone made one of those antennas that could compete with the Batwing Id buy two.
(The stationary antennas use electronic aiming so they are directional, they Chat with the receiver to figure out which way to point.. Very neat system.. alas, the only one I know of that does this is not all that great).
