HD TV repair question

Hey folks looking for some advice on fixing my Samsung 55" (Model UN55D6400UFXZA). Without going into details I believe my problem is the System card.
Here's my problem the part # on the System card is BN94-04869X and it appears it is not a valid number. I've Googled it to death and checked every website that supplies TV parts...nothing.
I've looked into what is the recommended spare for that TV, (BN94-05038N) and they look very similar but they are not the same. All the connectors on the board are identical but there are some differences near the center of the board. Chips don't match up.
All these websites have an almost identical warning. Don't order parts based on model numbers only use the part numbers that are actually on the boards.
I'm fairly technical (15 yrs with IBM), I have a feeling this two boards are interchangeable
but does anyone have any real life experience?

    Thanks to all who responded. It's definitely not the bulging caps thing...ran into enough of those to last a lifetime.
    I have a theory: I bought this TV when this model 1st came out. I'm guessing Samsung may have realized there was a problem with the Main board and quickly threw a slight re-design in to it.
    But I have to proof.

    You're in Tennessee and you didn't just toss it down a hill somewhere? I thought I was the only one in Tennessee who properly disposed of such items. Glad there's two of us.

    The Samsung PS has problems with the capacitors. It is very easy to see which ones are bad because they are pooched out. The kits you buy on eBay have all those caps in it and it is very easy to take the old one out and replace it. Hard part is getting the tv apart

    Best Buy store in Jackson, TN no longer takes old TVs. Bought a new one from them, and was told that they did. About a week later, took old one to them, and was told that they had lost their disposal site, and could no longer take it. Had to bring it back home and take to dump.

    Yep. I take old TVs and all other bad electronics items to Best Buy for free recycling rather than send them to the dump. They take old rechargeable batteries also.

    Have you asked Samsung? They have a decent tech support.

    I do know from other devices I use that two boards which function identically, and which connect differently, may indeed have different parts on them.... Sometimes I even tell the story (I'm specifically referring to the furnace control board in my RV, The Dinosaur boards replacement for my Atwood has a device the Attwood did not have (Among other differneces) and as a result a much longer design life). Don't have your years with IBM but I am a certified electronics technician, from back in the days when we still learned about those quaint things called Vavles over in England (Vacuum Tubes) and have dabbled in electronics for nearly 50 years (2 years shy).

    I've had good luck finding the parts for my Mitsubishi and excellent videos on repairs.

    Unfortunately, many television parts are not available for repair. Televisions, like so many other things, are becoming disposable.
