Just an update in case anyone might want to use such a device.
The splitter that I first tried was a cheap one from eBay, thinking it was a simple device and should be good enough. What I learned was the order of powering up the TVs, splitter and satellite receiver had to be a certain way for it to work. I found the LED lights on the splitter were very bright and annoying. Now to make matters worse, the splitter gave off an extreme amount of RF radiation, so bad that I couldn't listen to Rush Limbaugh on a portable radio in the barn or anywhere near it.
I contacted Sewell about their SW-23500 product and they basically said no problem. I purchased their splitter and installed it and am pleased that the above issues are gone.
