HDMI to RCA cables

Purchased a 2011 Sightseer that has a nice flat screen TV mounted on the wall over the buffet. Factory install. Also has a fixed King Dome roof mounted satellite. The input to the tv and the cables that would go into a receiver are RCA.

Question. I would like to add a Dish 211z receiver which has HDMI output. Is there a converter to take the output of the 211z receiver and convert the output to put the signal over the factory installed RCA plugs and wiring? Would I still get HD at the TV.

Or, do I have to rewire with HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV to get a HD signal to this one TV?

    The OP is a little muzzy, but I read it as saying the TV doesn't have an HDMI input, only RCA inputs. He's never come back so I guess he solved his own problem.

    After re-reading the original post, I'm wondering why not install the receiver near the TV and use HDMI? Or as asked previously, buy a receiver with component ouputs.

    Just also note that the LCD HDTV is going to convert input video signals back to digital. So going from HDMI(digital) to RCA Component(analog) to HDTV(digital).

    Something to remember - HDMI is Digital signal, RCA is Analog. You must have a converter somewhere in the signal path to convert Digital to Analog, or the other way, Analog to Digital to do what you are asking.

    A cable alone will not work. There needs to be a device to convert a digital HDMI signal to an analog signal.

    You might be able to do so if the factory RCA inputs are component(R,G,B), but need a digital HDMI to analog HD component converter. However, will not get HD if the RCA input is a single video connector(yellow), only composite video.

    But still may not work at all. HDMI not only carries uncompressed digital video/audio, but can incorporate data which is typically used for enforcing digital rights management such as HDCP. Some conversion boxes support HDCP, which may allow you to do so.
    Thanks, I really should have known that if I'd just thought about it for a sec. I mean HDMI is digital and RCA is analog, duh.

    WHAT? You say you know one TV has certain inputs and you post info about the others but "not sure". You also have a TV that has a time shifter? Are you referring to a TV or some other device? Then you say ""You can record in one room, play back in another or take it with you" applies, TO OVER THE AIR TV, in this house." In what house does the OTA TV programming refer to being able to record anything?
    I think there might be some reality here but it's completely lost in this post. Some clarification would be appreciated.
