That makes no sense. None of the people around him know what his driving skills are like - or anything else for that matter. All you'll get from those people are OPINIONS.

If he's breaking the law that's one thing. If it's someone's OPINION that he's a risk, that's entirely another. Should we ask someone who's eating a sandwich, or drinking a cup of coffee, or picking their nose, or any other form of distraction as well if they're a risk?

that should have been shown from the drivers point of view
showing it from the center of the car, and placing it in the center point of view, made it anoying, i know thats NOT how the driver saw it
thats NOT how i would want to see

so tell us what device you acquired is it like this hud glass there a lot of hud apps in the google play store looks like most are free

Great, yet ANOTHER "distracted driver" that folks will need to be alert for and dodge..

If Heads up display was such a great thing it would be integrated into EVERY vehicle.

It isn't.

I prefer to be able to fully see out my window glass without the potential distractions, so my phone is in a pocket and stays there for the duration of the drive.

You WILL someday understand where I am coming from after you find yourself facing a running deer darting across the road with oncoming traffic headlights blinding you at the same time.

I can easily spot folks who are driving distracted, they are often the ones randomly crossing the line nearly off the road or worse coming at me..

I see folks driving with extremely bright GPS and Sat radio systems mounted to the dash or window, I can't help to think that they are blinding themselves to other potential dangers like deer or other drivers..

Folks, put those extra distractions down and away and pay attention to the road around you..

yup. during my public safety career we looked at HUDs for our police vehicles a couple of times and while the technology has certainly changed since then it was never adopted because it was of a distraction than anything else.

But using a laptop while driving down the road isn't a distraction at all?
Can't tell you how many times I've had to honk at a cop in front of me who is totally distracted with his computer and sitting through a green light.
Even worse when they're driving.

have you seen the massive amount of equipment in a typical police cruiser? sure, the in-car computers can be a distraction but all of our depts. had standing orders to the officers to minimize the use of them while moving. that was controllable...to a point. an HUD that can't be avoided was an ever-present problem. they're both distractions but in our opinion the HUD was worse.

I agree with those of you who use technology to your advantage. Displays are fine, but as you said, audible alarms and on the road guidance are worth a ton to me. After all it is much better than pulling a paper road map while driving.

Considering the area of the sky, the congestion is nothing like on the freeway. And those pilots still almost, and sometimes do, run into each other.

Granted I've not used HUD, but anything that distracts me from the view out the front window is a distraction. IMO the fewer of those the better.

I suspect the HUDs in aircraft and in the 'vettes are considerably more advanced than a smart phone app.
