How to get Direct to talk to Wineguard, help.

I just tried to take the direct receiver out of my house and hook it up to the Winegard Roadtrip SD.... I made it as far as the error message cant communicate with satellite 775 or something to that effect. What am I doing wrong or it just wont work. I have receiver models h25- 500 and h24-200.

    Does the cable (coaxial) go directly from the antenna straight to satellite "IN" on the receiver?

    If I remember correctly the only DirecTV setup that does not use a B band converter is SWM technology. It wont hurt to connect one and see what happens.

    Winegard Road Trip stationary. The screen says don't add b converters.

    For the H24 do you have a B band converter attached to input 1? What Winegard antenna?

    Yes. H24-200. I have made it up to the point after putting in zip for coordinates. It searches and comes up with zeros across the board. Called winegard the said either tree or power line is blocking it. Or get out voltage meter and call em back.....

    Making noise would indicate either cable is not connected correctly or receiver issue.

    Winegard is makin all sorts of noise when I flip the switch for it.
