Sorry not trying to hijack this thread, but if you want to add one more thing to the mix:
If you pickup one of these as well as the RavPower, again fairly cheap and legal in most places, it is a tiny Over the Air PVR. You can tape your shows over the air at home or on the in the RV to the USB hard drive and stockpile them for a bit so the kids can than play them back in the car on the RavPower.

There are also other options out there for Over the Air PVR's but this one is reasonably small, making it RV friendly.
