I need a Facebook solution please....

My computer has a very strange habit. Previously to a day or two ago, if someone posted a video on Facebook and I wanted to watch it, if I was able to make the video full screen, then it would run just fine.

But if I left it in small screen, Internet Explorer would quit working and I would have to shut it down and then restart facebook. Sometimes I just could not watch facebook videos at all.

But now FB has decided to make videos start immediately when then come up on the screen without having to start them manually. Now, as soon as my computer sees a video, it shuts down Internet Explorer.

It drives me nuts... anybody with an answer??
  • I use Firefox and under the "setting" option, I do not have the choices shown.

Wish I could shut off the auto play too.
  • Also, after turning off 'autoplay', update your flash player. Recently flash has been causing several video problems with freezing browsers, etc.

Turn off Auto-Play on Facebook's settings, not Firefox's settings.

Also there is a Firefox plug in to make all flash video not play until you allow it to run. It is called FlashBlock. Go into Add Ons on Firefox and click get addons and look for this to install.

The steps above weren't the same we couldn't find the video settings under "settings"
    Thanks,Mike

Yes. Open Garbage can. Toss in iPhone. Close lid. Done.

    Sorry. Could not resist.

Was that a recent change to FB? Seems like I looked for a setting like that over a month ago and couldn't find one. Maybe FB got enough complaints to add it?

Two of them. ONe is to tell Facebook what you think of their new IMPROVEMENT that causes your computer to give up on you.

The other is to go to your facebook settings, (There is an ICON of a padlock with 3 lines beside it, it is to the right of the Earth icon, it is Privacy Settings) Then go to MORE SETTINGS

Down near the bottom of that list is the one where you can turn off auto play.. Found it yesterday.
