If you had to buy a tablet, other than Apple, for less than $300, what would you buy? Use would be for book reading, watching saved movies, playing solitaire type games, internet and email. Thanx

That is laughable at best.. The stuff you buy from HSN and QVC are pretty much ALL REFURBISHED stuff. In other words NOT NEW.
Refurbished is not new, never has been.
Yes, you will get some sort of "warranty" but keep in mind it will always be shorter length than if you bought a new unit.
Further more When they are "refurbed" they do not replace every part, they only replace the bad part.. And if they find no problem with unit they simply wipe the OS and reinstall and send it back out..
For something as cheap as a tablet there is no "advantage" to buying used, refurbed..
I would recommend staying away from the dirt cheap outlets like BigLots and such.. Had on, Wifi was junk, couldn't get further than 15ft from the AP and it would lose WiFi.. And yep, it was cheap at $79 with horrible WiFi and constant freezeups..
Instead, I would highly recommend a decent name brand like Acer, bought a Acer Iconia with Dual core Atom processor 16gig for $179.. WiFi works very well, speedy and freezeups are pretty much a thing of the past with the exception of very poorly written free "APs".
Now days you can get a Quad core Atom Acer Iconia for around $180..
