But as it got loaded up with the cameras, direcTV Rx, smart TV and DVD, some additional automated lighting around the house, VoIP, and over 10 combination phones and PC's, the router would choke and hang.... It simply couldn't handle all the traffic.SCVJeff wrote:
I run mine static into the router, but it's the cable modem that causes me issues. A UPS prevents most ISP/IP reassignments, but we had an outage while at Quartzsite that also killed the modem, so...... It asked for a new IP when it woke up again. :( The Foscam IP report gave me the new IP and it was a quick fix
Have you ever had an experience where your router hangs on reboot?
How do you resolve that from a remote location?
I replaced it with the new Lynksys WRT1200AC, that's a high-end gaming router. Twin processors, dual band, and even has a fan if needed (I actually got it to spin up once). I moved everything capable of getting on the 5.8GHz up there to lighten up the 2.4 traffic. That was several months ago and it hasn't so much as burped since the day I plugged it in.
