Installation of outside LED lights

I need some advise. I bought some led strip lights to install on the outside of my 5iver. Since I have an electric awning, I’m going to install them on the wall under the awning. I see three ways to get power. 1. tie into the porch light 2. drill a hole at the upper left side into a kitchen cabinet and tie into light fixture. 3. install a stick on track on the right side along the awning support, drill a hole thru the wall into the storage area and get power directly from the battery. I’m interested in how some of you installed yours.

  • Thanks for the replies. I;m going with option 2, thru the upper wall into the kitchen cabinet and tie into light fixture.
  • I drilled a hole next to where my awning power went into the 5er and ran the wires inside there.
  • I do these for people all the time...a small hole and into the light fixture. I always buy them with the RF remote so no need to point at the eye. Also I suggest you replace the double stick backing with 3M auto molding dbl stick (1/2" wide) it will not fall off. Be sure to use a solvent to clean off wax and residual mold release
  • I drilled a hole into a cabinet and was able to tie into an existing 12v light

The one over the door I tied into the porch light. The one under the awning I drilled a hole into a cabinet that had power.
