Sprint now yammers about how their IN NETWORK* reliablity is close to Verizons.

They do not tell you what IN NETWORK* means... And it is important

*(If you are in one of the very few locations we have SPRINT towers)
  • Always found Sprint to pretty much suck. I still with AT&T or Verizon now. Plenty of cheap options like Cricket and Total Wireless that uses those networks or in Cricket's case is even owned by the network provider. No reason to be on post paid anymore.
  • Love my Unlimited Sprint so there are different experiences for different users. $46/month and I am currently at 25GB for the month with 7 days left.
  • I won't use Sprint either.

I tried them for a weekend and found it wouldn't work near me. I cancelled and sent it back, but they continued to charge me for 2 months. Even after calling a few times. Then they told me I owed them the 2 months because I didn't cancel, even though I sent the MiFi back and had no way of using their service. They even acknowledged they received the MiFi back 10 days after I received it.

Had to fight with them for a month before I got it removed. My father had a similar experience with them trying to keep charging him.

Shady company that I will never use, and I will tell people about it too.
  • I had two really bad experiences with Sprint and won't go near them. I handle the IT support for a charter bus company and we have wireless routers in our coaches. International Roaming is disabled, but we had a coach that was in Detroit for a couple of days connect to a tower in Windsor, Ontario and we received an International Roaming bill that was over $4200. I had to spend hours on the phone and then take the modem in to a service center to have it checked before they would rescind the charges. 18 months later, I had a similar problem with a coach that was in Buffalo, NY that hit a Canadian tower and we had a $2300 International Roaming bill. I spent over 8 hours hassling with Sprint to get the charges rescinded. We were also on an "unlimited data" plan that was supposed to be 3g and 4g but we'd still get bills for data overages on 4g towers despite our contract with Sprint. And then there was that episode where Sprint sent us some "free" USB modems to upgrade the ones we had. As soon as they activated, it started a whole new contract without our approval. After literally days of billing and contract hassles, we dumped Sprint and moved our business to Verizon. Based on an extended history of overbillings and poor business practices, I would NEVER consider using Sprint again!
  • I only travel along the Interstates and in mid to large sized cities but my Sprint Hotspot has worked nearly everywhere. The speeds have not been terrific with the best being around 5MB down and 2MB up. We are now N. of Houston and TestMy.net shows me at 4.4 up and 2.3 down. This is an unlimited plan so I am not sure that there is not some amount of throttling in effect.
  • Good speed with no signal is not much help......I have a Sprint HotSpot and it works just about nowhere! Terrible service.

My Verizon and AT&T HotSpots work everywhere in my travels.
