The Verizon Jetpack can be used wherever you are. We travelled with ours for several years. We used both 12 volt and 110 as power sources and had coverage wherever we went. Many times a cell phone would not work, but the internet still did since we did not use a cell phone as a hotspot. After traveling for 9 years, we have always had internet either thru Verizon or ATT at any location we have been which included some rather remote areas in the west desert. We will always have our internet source seperate from our cell phone.
