I just went from an IPad Mini 1 to an iPad Air 2 and I am very happy with the switch. I bought a Samsung Tab 4 and was plain disasatisfied with it. I gave it to my son. While apps may physically load on it you need the horsepower to run them smooth.
Also the expandable memory is not what you think...yea you can get a micro SD card on SOME android tabs to "expand the memory" but what is not always up front is that some apps will only let you download to the device memory and not the SD card. Plus my SD card corrupted and I lost all my apps data and my pics that were on the SD card...real bummer.
Some apps for android are good but there are a lot that don't work very well.
I'm back with my "restrictive"...mobile computer that works great and has a ton of memory...I bought the 64 GB version...
BTW split screen multitasking is fantastic on iOS 10 for the Air 2, slide over is great, the widgets are great and customizable. I've heard that argument before about android being more customizable...I guess so, not really sure what that means...you can put a google search bar in the middle of the screen and a fancy clock in the middle of the screen...not a deal breakers IMHO
My IPad Mini was supported by the parent company for four years with regular updates...hard to find another mobile device company to do that for that long.
Android has its place for sure and is very popular...it's just not for me.
Between the iPad mini 2 and the iPad mini 4 I would spend the extra $$ on the Mini 4.
Thanks!
