iPad touch screen question.

My MIL iPad mini was terrible at screen touch. Told her to remove the screen protector. Now she is happy. Us Old folks don't throw our iPads around like the younger folks do so I see no sense in the protectors.

Ipads use capacitive touch screens so things like the warmth or smoothness of your fingers or how hard/soft you press make no difference. Screen protectors or anything else that changes the distance between your finger and the screen or effect the electrical resistance of your finger (such as wearing gloves) do have an effect. I never thought about the dryness of your skin but it is true that dry skin has a higher resistance than moist skin so that does make sense.

Pushing or tapping harder will only damage your screen. I think a good cleaning is in order. I have one of those heavy duty screen protectors and it wasn't cheap, but I've had this Ipad for 4 years and it gets used a LOT with no issues (knock on wood) :D

Some people just have naturally moist skin if yours is dry that could be the problem.

Intersting! Never considered that. The air is pretty dry in the place where I'm living right now.I'll have to experiment.
