Thank you for your responses.
Just to clarify. We have stopped and stayed at more than 20 different camp grounds since Nov. 3rd. In Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
We're running a Wilson Sleek 4G booster to increase cell phone reception.
I've been monitoring this situation at every stop. I do ping and speed tests, and while not scientific it's "almost" a given that 4G takes a big hit in the afternoon and until 9 PMish.
Download speeds of less than 1 meg are common, and makes the internet almost unusable. Run the same test, from the same location at 2 AM, and it's 8-12 down and 5+ up.
I think that Verizon has oversold their wireless network and that they can't handle customer demand. If Verizon was a power company, customers would be banging on their door for better electrical service. If Verizon was a water company and you couldn't get water for 8 hours a day, customers would be banging on their door.
I'm suggesting the above points to illustrate a point, I'm simply saying that poor service for what you're paying for is not good business.
What say you?
Edit: Google "Verison 4G slow download" and you will see many posts in other forums that address this same issue all over the country.
Also, we did a cross country trip in 2012, with the same hardware and the 4G speeds were significantly faster, and there was no significant wireless congestion. So, what's going to happen in two more years? Verizon charges customers a LOT of money to have wireless connectivity, and they need to provide adeguate hardware to accomodate their customers.
