Just a hassle
I bought a few things from CW at the Tampa RV Super Show last month.
Shortly afterward, I got an email with a $10 Camping World Merchandise Certificate. The email said: "As a token of our appreciation for your business, please accept the merchandise certificate below worth $10 off your next purchase. Just print out this email and take to any Camping World Supercenter nationwide or redeem by calling our call center at 1-800-626-5944. ..."
CW put their chrome Oxygenics shower head on sale so we went by their store in Dover, FL which was out of stock. Called their Summerfield, FL store with the same result. So, with the sale ending soon, I decided I better order it by phone and pay the shipping, figuring the merchandise certificate would offset the shipping expense. When I tried to place the order, first the rep told me the item is on backorder there as well. I said ok, I could wait. Then she told me I couldn't use the certificate over the phone and after receiving the order at an undetermined future date, I would have to send in the certificate by snail mail to get the $10. I didn't ask, but I'll bet it would be in the form of a gift card. My certificate expires next month, so I guess if I didn't get the order in time, I wouldn't be able to use it anyway. I thanked her for her time and did not place the order.
Too many other buying options to waste my time on this one.
