Super big thanks. We will probably go ahead and pre-order the 4g LTE model and hope that Amazon ships out sooner than the posted Dec. 10 date.
My DW is firm about getting a 'Kindle' product. Her current, an earlier, basic model has been 'freezing'.
After more thought, the additional $100 dollars for the 4g LTE capability is sort of minor when one considers the total dollars spent traveling, (spread out over the tablet's life).
Poster jcpainter's comment about GPS and navagation apps is also a big plus, hopefully the Kindle version works the same as Apple's. I plan on researching the available GPS apps for the Kindle in detail.
One has to choose, AT&T or Verison when ordering. As we currently have AT&T, I feel 'stuck' with staying with them (Have had AT&T for many years, DW has a new iphone 5s, thus new 2 year contract) and with the newer 'share data' plans, it doesn't make sense to have 2 carriers.
