Kindle Fire HDX 8.9" Advise- 4g LTE or Wi-Fi Only

We have several kindle fires, none with the 4G. If we want internet connection I just use our cell phone or mobile hotspot as a hot spot for the kindles. Avoids addiional cost/month of the kindle dedicated connection.
