Latest and Greatest WiFi Booster?

Dang I want to get WiFi at an acceptable speed to the daughter's and grand sons house. So far no success on DSL.

The main office of he state park (of which they are a resident on) has good WiFi, but it is about 1/4 mile through a wooded area.

Are there any late break troughs on signal amplification. My efforts in the past at buying gizmos have failed the test.

thanx
  • Try this:

I don't know how to make this a link sorry.

They claim range is about 8 miles over open country. It seems very simple to construct.
  • There are a number of manufacturers that make amplifier/routers that should be able to help you, although a quarter of a mile is a significant challenge if it is wooded as you say. Since I work for one of the companies I can't provide you any specific advice on this forum but I'm sure others will make recommendations. If you wish to know more I'd be happy to respond to a PM.
  • You sure it's the signal to the house and not the 'backbone' speed of the internet?
