What do you mean 'sign up with several libraries' ??
I fulltime and have been using Overdrive for about 3 years. My biggest problem was that the county library I'm now in (associated full timers address) is relatively small hence not a large selection of books to choose from. And they also would only issue cards if you came in person in order to verify you live in that county. Which is why I asked my question above. I'd like to know how to get free library cards from multiple public libraries.
My solution was to buy a membership from a large library - specifically Orange County (Florida) Library. Cost is $200/year. I consider that a minor cost based on the number of books I read in a year.
I long for the day that we have state-wide or (gasp !) a country-wide ebook lending library. Can you imagine - No more complaints about not being able to download all but one of a series of books ?
