We still need higher wattage LEDs in 3-way configuration to replace the venerable 50W-100W-150W 3-way incandescent.
gee, I have one of those "nasty" 50-100-150w eq. fluorescents up over my left shoulder now. please explain why I need to toss it and buy a LED?

I replaced one of those 60W equivalent small spiral CFLs which was 18W with an 11W LED, $15 that looks like this:

Note that this bulb is actually slightly smaller than a 60W incandescent bulb.
Now I see they are $12:
linkThe three way CFL we have is rated at 12W-23W-29W, however it is probably a 30W-70W-100W equivalent. I have a 150W equivalent CFL and it is 42W. If the 11W LED scaled a 50W-100W-150W LED equivalent would be 9W-18W-27W.
