Glad you got things back to normal!
Now that it is working, I will suggest that you consider getting an external USB hard drive and at least copy ALL of your important files (photos, documents, music, ect) to that drive.
Then disconnect the drive and set it aside and only plug it in to add more files to it as a backup.
The reason for this is there is a lot of malware now days called "ransom ware".. It WILL encrypt ALL of those files and hold the ransom until you pay up in "Bitcoins".. The encryption is irreversible without the proper "keys" which you pay for.
Backing up your files allows you to simply reinstall your OS and programs from original discs and your important files from the external USB hard drive.
