Verizon "consumer customer service"
Does not know anything about Mellenicom
VZW Corp business affairs definitely knows who Mellenicom is
They sold them the bandwidth, and enough access to the VZW system to manage a block of telephone account numbers
And yes it's been six days since VZW acquired control of those accounts, and eight days left in the month until the announced double data on phones promotion ends
Many of Mellenicom users only want data, they don't want to change their phone accounts
Doing do may our may not be the best idea for them
For others, combining everything into one account will come about about the same total price
Those using Tracfone , straight talk, consumer cellular, PHONES etc... it will mean an increased monthly expense, so yes they want to hang onto the last minute - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIMy WAG is that if you do nothing, you will either end up with no service or free service until Verizon catches on. I know that all Millenicom accounts are marked to cancel themselves 10/31 and I the last anyone reported, Verizon does not even know what a Millenicom is. The double data deal ends on the 31st so if you wait you could easily lose.
- LearjetExplorertick tick tick...getting closer to not having my device moved directly to Verizon if they don't say something soon.

- paulcardozaExplorerAbsolutely - Everyone should practice basic internet safety with this whole issue! Getting signed up with a new hotspot account, regardless of carrier, is a quick and simple process. Don't panic and make stupid decisions, based on pressure from any carrier............

Be aware that more than a few scams are out there right now.. Millenicom customers are posting about getting emails and phone calls saying that you "need to give me your information or log into this link" or call this number... to register your device with verizon. It is NOT verizon making those calls or sending those emails. It's someone trying to get your login and account information. Someone is trying to make a buck on this...besides Verizon.
Don't fall for it. Don't give them any information without making SURE who is asking for it. - louiskathyExplorerBe aware that more than a few scams are out there right now.. I did not say that there was a loss of customers to Verizon. Millenicom lost all of their customers to Verizon.
You miss my point, I don't think the accounts are reverting to VZW. I believe the service is just ending. It will be up to individuals to go with VZW or another carrier.
I don't think that will turn out to be correct. Millenicom has turned over their list of users to Verizon and Verizon is "supposed to be" contacting former Millenicom customers with the options available to continue service. It appears to at least require a new SIM card and speculation is that you will need to sign up for one of the current Verizon offerings. - mikeleblanc413ExplorerMillenicom was a great service. I spent the summer at the Glacier National Park area. When nothing else worked; Millenicom performed as it should. I certainly hate to see them go out of business.
- Robin1953ExplorerI am so glad that I bailed out of Millenicom before all of this happened. I just didn't need 4G service nor 20GB of data a month. My ST hotspot is working quite well.
