Millenicom

Has Millenicom priced themselves out of the market? Seems to me they have. Last fall travel season we used them and were pleased with the service. Even though we thought the $70 price a bit high probably because it was for 20 gig a month, an amount we have no use for. We only use 5 gig per mo at our stick & brick home.

Fast forward to this year. Now the price is up to $90 a month for 20 gig a month. We have checked with Verizon, the network that Millenicom uses and can get 5 gig a month for $50. Our jetpack from Millenicom will work. Same $35 activation fee but is a two year contract. But we can suspend svc up to three months at a time and no reactivation fee unlike Millenicom. True that suspension adds to the length of the contract. But since we want to travel Mar-May, and Sept-Nov every year, we can likely avoid the reactivation fee altogether.

Looks like the best price out there for Verizon network, anything I am missing here?
  • "Has Millenicom priced themselves out of the market?"

No, they haven't. For folks that actually need 20 gig, which is most of us these days when you can't even read the news online without videos, Millenicom is still the best deal in town. Way cheaper than V when you compare 20 gig to 20 gig.
  • Yes you are missing something ....your pricing 5 gig vs 20 !! ?4X the amount of data. Sure if you only need 5 gig then go for the 50buck deal. How much do you use ? Only you can decide that. I know 5 would not be enough for us .Only using 5 gig means you have no video only email I assume. so Buy less !
  • It's at least $150.00. One of their prepaid talk/text/data plans advertises: •Unlimited Talk & Text and 500 MB of data for $45/month.

10GB for $90.00 for their JetPack Service

So, no - I don't think that Millenicom has outpriced themselves! To top it off, Millenicom has excellent tech support, 24/7 and they won't nag you if you occasionally go over your allotted 20GB a month!
  • They are still much cheaper than Verizon if you use a lot of data. I 'think' 20 gigs from Verizon is over $150.
  • Millenicom's advantage occurs between 10GB and 20GB usage ea
    h month.
