Need mobile hot spot

Looking for a pay as you go mobile hot spot device for occasional use when traveling. Any advice on those devices and useage subscriptions from places like Virgin Mobile, Verizon, etc.

Use will be basic e-mail and internet surfing. No downloads of movies and such.

All information will be greatly appreciated.

    Check out Straight Talk WIFI hot spot. Pay as you go, Verizon towers, no contract, 3g. works for me

    Seems like most people on here prefer verizon with a "jet pack". I won't use it much so to start out I just had my mobile carrier give me the option of making my cell phone a 4G hotspot. Cost $5 a month V $5o for the jet pack. Couldn't hurt to ask your carrier, if you get good coverage.
