Just be careful with those things in the wind. I saw one at the beach that was getting hammered, rocking back and forth on the mast. They finally had to stow the thing because they couldn't settle it down. I dont know of the mast mechanics were loose that allow it to start oscillating, or if this is an areodynmanic thing that needs looking at.
PS- not sure if i have a good place to lay one of those on its back and spin it around for a field test, but I'd think it probably has a pretty good Conical pattern to it. So if in a reasonably good area where there are transmitter sites scattered around it actually might work better on its back. Its essentually now an omni.
