So far I'm not very impressed with this company. When you call for help you are told that all operators are busy and that if you leave your number the next available operator will call you. It's been 3 hours now. For "expedited service" send them an e-mail they say but no response there either. And they're going home for the day in 15 minutes.Test is failing every time. First it was running 50 tests (1 of 50) and now it was 38. With my other tripod dish 500 it was always 3 tests. I'm using the same receiver as before which Dish confirmed is compatible, the 522. It first says to check superdish/alternate and then says to uncheck. I've tried both ways and no luck. Anyone else been through this?...Thanks...

You will get switch test failures. This is normal.

There is a procedure in the manual for resetting the receiver and setting it up for that Winegard dish. I don't recall what it was but I had the same problemRead this for dish Dish Setup

You cannot split the 1 input and send it to two receivers. You must connect that cable direct from the Winegard to the receiver.

So 1. Why do they send you only one coax cable? 2. Since most Rv's have a single satellite port in the cabinet you have to run both wires through a window? There's nothing in the manual talking about 2 cables.

Ok, got a big green bar -- it was a palm tree. Locked onto 119, doing a switch test. I don't know how I would have ever figured this out if not for you. Much of this is not in the directions.

As stated above:
"You cannot split the 1 input and send it to two receivers."

You must connect 2 cables direct from the Winegard to the receiver.

I also have a 522 and it will never pass the test unless both cables are run direct.

Of course I could be wrong. Let us know if it works with 1 cable on a splitter.

Switch test showing reception error (red) Input 1 has a big red x on port 1 -- x's in port 2 and 3. Switch below that says "SW21-3SAT"....Satellite Input 2 says reception verified, switch under that is "none". Is this because there is only one coax connected?

What I did with my Rv is put a double jack in one of the storage areas and put a cigarette lighter plug in the same compartment. I then ran a cable from each receiver to each one of the jacks in the compartment. I just pull out the cable from the compartment and set it up on the ground and voila satellite in less than 3 minutes.

Wow. Ok, that appears to be in. *No* mention of this in the manual that I can see. Or is it maybe just specific to the 522? Does it matter which coax goes in which Sat input? I'm just going to connect two, run them through the window and see what happens.

This one certainly isn't. ;) It would figured. Wide open view, one palm tree. I put it down dead center.

DirecTV is so much easier. A single cable to a single receiver and that is it.

I have used 2 different model (dual tuner) recievers and it's the same, not jsut the 522.
I think they only send one cable as that is meant to connect the receiver to the TV.
