NIC for Win 10

My onboard network interface adapter on my desktop recently stopped working. Thinking I could easily replace it with an inexpensive PCI or PCI-E card, I found that these cards offer no support or drivers for Windows 10. Any suggestions on a compatible card?

May be a little confusion here. Yes, I was referring as per my title to a Network Interface Card using a RJ-45 connector and Ethernet cable.

After a little more research a USB adapter would work fine but I've also found a cheap PCI card that has Win 10 drivers. Many of the links in other posts do not specify Win 10 compatibility, so they may or may not work.

thanks again for all the suggestions

The thread title says "NIC for Win 10", not sure where you got NIA. Ah, he wrote it out rather than the acronym.

USB is certainly an option but this is an older MB that only has USB 2.0, so that's going to slow things down.
Youu must have REALLY REALLY good wifi for USB 2.0 to slow you down - USB 2.0 is rated at 480mbps! I get 5mbps on my internet going downhill with a tailwind.
He may be trying to hook up to a gigabit line, as he is talking about an NIC rather than a Wifi card.

I have found an inexpensive PCI board that I think I'll try.
  • There are many listed on Amazon for win 10 but a USB adapter is simpler and has more options. Many that supprt win 8 also support 10
