Non contact Voltmeter
I'm looking for a volt meter that I can use to check DC voltage without cutting into the wire. I know that there is one for AC,but,is there one for DC? Any suggestions?

Use a Pin or a plastic tipped thumb tack to pierce the wire without damage. I sharpen my probes so rarely need a pin or tack.
