Victron Voltmeter Setup

After having a 712 voltmeter installed, and downloading the APP, I set up the meter per instructions, and it seemed to go easily enough... but... when I went to check the actual meter - installed in the battery bay - all I get on the readout is a changing bunch of characters that make no sense, nor does it indicate that THAT also has to be "setup"...

In any case, the readouts are a jumble of unknowable information, as the manual does not speak to this at all...

Anyone know what's going on here, and how to resolve it?

I figured out the iPhone part... it's the meter itself that's giving me cause for this inquiry...
  • There is a good forum on the Victron site. I'd post the problem there. I am sure you'll get a quick answer.
  • The BMV does has to be set up manually as well for the screen to show info.

If it is scrolling "bAttEry CAPACity" then just go to the top of page 5(1.1) in the manual and follow the instructions and you should be good to go.
  • If it still shows a bunch of nonsense on the display, remove power from it, wait a a minute or so and reconnect it to power.

My BMV-712 has been flawless. I've had two of them.
