I plan on getting the Note 4 in January when my two year Verizon contract expires. I hate typing on a smartphone so now with the Note 4 I will be able to do texting and take notes with the S pen.

I use ColorNote.
It has check list style or plain text. You can also set chosen items to be flashed as reminder(s).

Google reminders (inside of Google Now) also has the location feature. It is really helpful to be reminded of something whenever you get close to a location, instead of at a particular date/time.

Google Now first came out in Android 4.1 (JellyBean) so it should be on most people's phones if they are somewhat new.

x2 on Evernote. You can also access / update / change your notes online as well as on the phone. When I change phones, I install Evernote from the Play Store, login, and all my notes then appear on the app.

There is a pay version, but I have used this app for years, and personally the free version has always had all the features I need.

Yes, that is pretty cool. I have been using Keep for a while and I never saw this option.

Using Evernote I can sync notes between my PC, tablet, and phone. The free version works well and does everything that I need.

The S Pen apps are on the Samsung Note phones and tablets. They will not be on a non-Note Samsung. You will not find them on Google Play but only on Samsung's app store. You may not be able to download them to a non-Note phone or tablet.

Yes, I have read that and that it is on my Samsung S5. But I can't find it on my phone or on Google's play store.
