My Garmin GPS was demoted to the glove-box about 5 years ago when I got an Android phone. I use the Smartphone GPS all the time and find it just as
good as Garmin.

I just completed a 500 mile GPS led motorcycle tour and the Smartphone worked perfectly. I doubt I'll ever switch back to a dedicated GPS unit.
