Someone asked if you could keep a cell phone on all the time. Sure. I've done it many times and it doesn't use much data including traffic services.
However, I'm still not happy with google maps as a solution. If you have a route plugged in, then you don't need cell service for navigation. However, if you don't have cell service to start, you can't initiate a route (much of the West). I"ve also been led astray on google maps in less populated areas. It's the reason Im reading this thread.
I have copilot loaded and will try out today.
