I have 3 GPS systems (well technically 4 but one is rather lame) here.
The smart phone.. Is great save for one small problem.. The memory is not all that big so they do not store detail maps of the US.. Most of the map is "Cloud" stored on, in my case, Google's servers. This means if I do not have cell coverage, I do not have map data.. Kind of a pain. Oh it will store a route. but if for any reason I exit maps. I may loose it.
The Garmin and Windows S&T With GPS dongle. the entire map data is stored on board.. I need NO cell tower to edit the route, inspect the route, display the route, or anything else the route.. it's all on board. NO cloud storage.
And that's the way uhhu uhhu I like it.
