I use a Garmin GPS because I can load custom POI (Points of Interest) files on it. I can quickly get directions to the nearest Ford dealer, the nearest Walmart that allows overnight parking (or prohibits it), the nearest NAPA, AutoZone, or whatever store, and hundreds of other categories. These are much easier use than the built-in POIs.
