For around the local area I use my iPhone 6 for gps, this is usually when I am going somewhere new. When we tow, we use Copilot on an iPad. The maps download onto your device so you do not need data to use it. I also have a hands free device that can connect to both my iPad and my iPhone at the same time so I get directions and can take a phone call if necessary. The app has a place to add the trailer height when towing.

This has worked pretty well for us so far.
