Pathway X2 second receiver problem

That is correct. Your other option is to NOT select 2 receiver (even if you have 2 receivers) and you will have the same limitation as any other dome in that both receivers must be watching programming being broadcast from the same satellite.

Summary Winegard Pathway X2

-When choosing 2-receiver setup, the X2 uses only eastern arc and locks only on satellite at 72.7.

-Dish 72.7 appears to carry all programming except local stations (spot beams).

-Cannot use X2 in the 2-receiver mode with western arc - which is why arc selection is grayed out on primary receiver.

Reading through this thread, could it be that you aren't using RG6 cable or your trailer isn't wired with RG6 cable? That will certainly cause the problems you are describing.

There is NOTHING he can do to prove your receivers are working. He can not do or see anything that would confirm your receivers are or are not working. The only way to know if a receiver is working properly is to connect it to a working antenna setup and see if you get programming. He can have you check the "check switch" settings but he would have no idea if that was correct or not for a Pathway X2. The correct check switch would be showing 72.7. If you are currently seeing anything else in your check switch screens the Dish folks would consider that correct despite not being so.

I love it when Sat TV techs say "I can see both your receivers" Of course they can not, the antenna on your end is receive only, the tech can not see it no way, no how, no sir, unless it is connected to a phone line or to the internet via an alternate feed.

Now with 2-wsay satellite internet (Take a look at THOSE antennas some time) Then they can "See" you but for Dish or Direct to say they can "See" your receiver is, of course, a lie.

Sorry, guess I didn't type correct.

To explain further what he was getting at was that he saw BOTH receivers were active and after having me do some things he recommended proved that there was nothing wrong with the receivers or dish but something in our rig internal wiring.

Finally got around to do some checking.

Connected coax direct to the 211k in the bedroom while leaving the main 211Z connected to the outside IN...Had setup screen in the bedroom but would not connect to progamming.

Then connected coax to the main (211Z) direct and coax direct to the 211k in the bedroom. The Main connected to basic channels (not our Programming). The 211k got further this time by trying to acquire a signal and then going to error screen saying not available.

Had a good DISH tech (in Oklahoma) on the line who was trying to help who said he saw both receivers but the signal was not getting to the 211k in the bedroom. Concluded wiring in our rig and if splitter the Pathway will not work with any splitter.

Will have to look for any splitter but that won't be for awhile as we will be on the move...the DW will have to watch the Main feed.

Ah, I see, And by the way.. Thanks.. I spend most of my year east of the Mississippi so I might be able to hit 72.2 Will have to check it out with my Coolsat (Can not watch TV with it but it sure searches nice)
