Paying for an app
I’ve only used free apps. How does one pay for an app? When I clicked on one that cost I got a box that said something about my account and showed my email.

Your email address is probably your Apple ID also. That’s why it’s popping up.
On the iPad to redeem an iTunes gift card you will need to open your iTunes Store app. Scroll to the bottom and click redeem. You can then use the iPad’s camera to scan the scratch off code from the gift card.
If you want to register a credit card with your account open the iTunes Store app and scroll to the bottom. Click on your Apple ID (email address) and then look for Payment Information.
