Forum Discussion
- DutchmenSportExplorerFYI, I checked my private email and Photobucket also sent me that Email about 3rd party. Had someone else on these forums say they could not see my image on RV.net. So, time to switch, for sure.
I just created an account with imgur.com and suppose I'll be using it now. That means sending up photos one at a time as I post to use them on these forums. Oh well.
I guess it's time to just let PhotoBucket take a slow and natural death now, by simply not using it any more. After more than 12 years it's time to say "goodbye!"
Unfortunately, there is no where to send comments to them to inform them I'm leaving, and I can't even find my personal user information on that site any more. But wow! The advertisements sure come up, and up, and up, and up, over and over and over again!
Time to move on. My free lunch is now over there.
So, time to see if I can get Imgur working: Test photo: - CA_TravelerExplorer IIIFrom another thread the 1492 app may have a limit of about 50 pictures. If true then this will support the casual rv.net picture poster but not others.
So private imgur account, Google, Dropbox or ??? - CA_TravelerExplorer IIIDiskDoctr,
Interesting link. - MrWizardModeratorinteresting
well if my pictures stop showing, there will be no reason to leave them there - CA_TravelerExplorer III

1492 is clever. Here is one line of his code.CA Traveler wrote:
OK. But it is basically seamless to the user, no registration required to use it. And it says RV.Net at the top. :)
rv.net does not host ANY photos except for the signature.
The link you provided hosts the pictures on imgur.com which is not rv.net related. Moderator 1492 provided some script interface code for sizing etc of photos. His work provides a nice and simple posting access.

All pics OK for me with Chrome and Firefox. Don't have Safari installed and I don't use my phone for this board. - MrWizardModeratorWx8ym
That doesn't sound right, sounds like you are talking about face book
You have some kind of block
I can log out and still see my pix and everybody else that uses them for a host

I do Not have a Facebook membership - Bionic_ManExplorer

To Mitch and Dutchmen, neither of your photos are showing up for me.
I'm fed up with Photobucket as well. Way too
Many ads. Never tried Dropbox. How do you get the image code to link once you upload a photo?
It might be a browser setting. Do you have a second browser on your computer? If you are using IE, do you have Google Chrome, or something else? If you are not seeing the images on this site, then something inside your computer is blocking them.
On my work computer, our system has blocked specific web sites, namely ALL email web sites, and many photo hosting sites, and YouTube.
But when I connect that same laptop outside the company firewall, everything works.
Check the setting on your browser, see if you have a setting switched on to NOT view specific images.
Edit:
I will agree, the ads on Photobucket are now just absolutely ridiculous. I think they are doing over-kill so folks will sign up for their paid subscription. Unfortunately for them, folks are not paying, they are going elsewhere.
I started using PhotoBucket the same time I joined this forum web site just for the sole purpose of being able to post photos here. I don't have any originals on Photobucket, all of them are resized before uploading there to meet RV.net requirements, and my originals are on my computer and back-up hard drives (I have more than one). I'm also on the verge of abandoning PhotoBucket. I suppose I'm one of those that want to have the "free lunch" as long as they are still making it "free!"
Very interesting. On my phone and safari, only your and Mitch's photos don't appear. Change to chrome, and they do show up. ???
