It's not just Camping World. All businesses with 4 walls are struggling to compete with the prices on the internet.

I've said this several times on this forum. No brick and mortor business can compete on price with an internet business, even their own internet branch, and stay in business for the long term. The business models are too dissimilar to have the same price structure.

I was told by camping world Spokane that it is company policy to not price match Amazon. I'm buying $4k of stuff that should cost much less. It makes me less likely to purchase products at camping world.

I do buy things from on line stores but Amazon is not one of them...
I spend a lot more on things at a brick and mortar then I spend on line. (groceries and house hold consumables excluded of course) I think there are more people in the world who do so then you guys give credit. Generally my on line shopping is only for things I cant find at a local store. I use the internet to do my price comparisons then go to the store to buy what I want. I predict Best Buy will be around for a while to come. Just my two cents

At the end of every fiscal quarter or so, you'll see a small news story pop up about how BestBuy isn't doing so hot... I would not be surprised if a BestBuy bankruptcy were a hot news story tomorrow or any day.

In the business section, they call Best Buy "Amazon's Showroom", people touch and feel it at Bestbuy, then use an app on their smart phone to order it on Amazon.

Camping World needs to take the internet sales to the next level and offer some of the same prices that others have on the net, Walmart has done this and that's why they still out sell anyone on the net.

I buy what I need fast from Camping World in the stores or wanting to check out camping chairs and other misc items but when it comes to the internet its always cheaper elsewhere

Oh, I don't know about that...the below item you can buy at Walmart comes with a "for all eternity" guarantee. If that isn't the very apex of "high dollar durable goods", I don't know what is!

This past spring I found the Trav'ler on Amazon for a great price. I asked Fife WA CW to match. They refused. They also refused the $39 install. I posted here. Marcus responded that he will match any price and install for $39. Result, I got my Trav'ler at the Fife CW at the Amazon price with the $39 install.

I think some local stores don't know the policy. That's one reason why I like this forum.
